Licence Issue

i just now received my licence and tried to install it, since its an upgrade it asked for a recent licence which i then entered getting the message below eradicating my last days of trial completely leaving me with files i can not edit anymore and urgently need!!!

what should i do here? why is that so difficult??

i wanted to lock the licence to this computer i am working on, maybe that is too difficult for Rhino to understand? i tried to remove my licences online but there is no option to remove only to add.

the only option is to link my licence to my user account, which i wanted to avoid because start up depends on my internet working and i would like to speed up start up times which are so slow with licence being requested each time. so what can i do to fix this?

from what i gathered is that on windows the licence is only being requested once in a while, but on mac it searches for the licence online every single time.

either way i would like to fix my licence to the computer which am not capable right now.

Hi encephalon,

You can choose where you want to put your license. Note that the Rhino 7 → 8 upgrade is still considered one licence. Since your Rhino 7 is on your Cloud Zoo that is where the Rhino 8 needs to be as well.

Here are the instructions to remove both and put them standalone on the same machine.

thanks Japhy,

i gave up a bit too early. clicking into the number once more lets one finally remove it, i was expecting a remove button to appear before that already.

there still is one bug, when i remove the licence from v7 either and enter it as a locked licence it tells me that my licence has expired and keeps rhino in read only mode. after restarting it did not complain anymore. nevermind thanks again!
