Learning how to "read" drawings w/ Rhino on mac

Hello,
I would like to start use Rhino in order to “read” architectural drawings. By this I mean, I need to be able to upload a .dwg file, and extract measurements of different elements and details in that drawing. It is overwhelming for me to do this on my own. I am not currently looking to use rhino to create & design.
Is there a way for me to learn the basic commands and functions of the software that would allow me to understand details in drawings without also being overwhelmed with a wide range of info I am not currently using?

Hi tal - it sounds like a dwg viewer might be what you need. In Rhino, I guess I would look at the analysis and dimensioning commands first

Length
Distance
Angle
Radius

Dim
DimAngular
DimRadius

etc.
