Layout -- Detail View alligned with Model geometry

Hi all,

Is there a way to get a Detail View’s rectangle to be aligned with a rectangle in a model?
The same way “alignspace” command in AutoCAD works?

That would be beneficial for (similar, repetitive, ie. floor plans) drawings output – since PDF scrolling through multipage PDF would in that way render repetitive geometry in the fixed position (wouldn’t flicker when scrolling thorugh the document), and similarly presentation videos (.AVI, .MP4) made from those rasterized PDF pages wouldn’t flicker when there’s no geometry change in successive frames.

Thanks!
H.

Hi Harry - can you post a simple example file with a layout and detail that illustrates what you are asking about?

Hi,

Sure, here it is.
Layout – Align Detail View.3dm (290.1 KB)

I’d like the vertex “A” to be (perfectly) aligned with vertex “B”.

Thanks fot the effort,
H.

Hi Harry - set SetZoomExtentsBorder to 1 for parallel views and then ZE or ZS (Zoom>Extents or Zoom>Selected) and Enter.

Hi,

Perfect! Thank you a lot!
