I updated to Version 6 SR12 (6.12.18345.14291, 12/11/2018)
Opened my current work : all the layouts were pitch black at first.
After a little bit of clickety-clicking around, some of them appear, and then disappear.
I then tried to display the “About” window which did not show (is it black on black ?).
Now, each click I do rings the “error” chime, and I can’t close Rhino.
Ctrl-Alt-Del time.
UPDATE : I downloaded and installed the latest graphics drivers to no avail.
Then Andrew did some checks an tried other SR12 versions : that did not work.
Finally he reverted my Rhino back to SR.11 and everything is back to normal.
“6.12 RC1 is known to be unstable. Please avoid it. We will release a new RC soon.”
I read your post and thought I’d better check to see if I have 6.12. Nope, I still have 6.11. But Rhino informs me an update is available and is downloading 6.12. Not sure if this is RC1.
Well, the principle behind putting out a release candidate every week is so that people can test and find bugs, so that they can get fixed before the service release becomes final. If the possibility of having new bugs introduced (big and small) in a release candidate is bothersome, then you should turn off the release candidate downloads in options and wait for the full service release versions only.
The link on the Download page for Rhino V6 is the SR11 you’re looking for.
After uninstalling SR12 and reinstalling SR11, consider setting your Options > Updates and Statistics back to “Service Release”.
