After the newest update I tried running toolbarreset and I still can’t see the layers toolbar on this rhino7 file I opened with rhino8. Also, it would be really nice if I could get that split view of different toolbars like we had in rhino7. I have to manually add it if I want two toolbars on the right side and the UI is pretty clunky to make that happen.
Window pull-down > Windows Layouts > Default
Any luck?
YES! Thank you.
After the last update I’m not able to add that split view for toolbars on the right of the screen anymore. Any suggestions on how to make that a reality?
Hi Chris -
If I understand what you mean… Pull the Layer
panel out of the right-hand container and drop it on a viewport to create a new floating container. Then, grab the new container (not the panel inside) and move it to the right side of the screen. Blue squares will appear. Drop the container on one of those.

That’s what I did before but it’s not working now for some reason.
Exactly which step is no longer working?

The blue boxes are no longer showing up.
Ah! I got them to show up by clicking and dragging the bar back into the area instead of clicking and dragging the tab. It’s working now but it’s a little finicky.
Hi Chris -
When you click and drag “the bar”, you are moving a container. Only containers can be docked. When you click and drag “the tab”, you are moving a panel or a toolbar. Those can only live in a container.
