Layer Problems

In the past I have pointed out that on the OBJECTS panel, the Layer drop down sometimes does not reflect the structure of the layers as in the LAYERS panel. In other words, sublayers show up in the OBJECT panel/LAYER drop down with different parents than in the LAYERS.

Here the “Warp Engines” layer has two sublayers (Left and Right).

In the dropdown it has 8 sublayers (that it is picking up from other layers.

I am curious if there is any update on this?

It’s still an open bug report and currently marked for the 5.3 release. I’ve nudged it too though.

@dan do you know if this is beyond what’s possible for 5.2?

Argh. I do remember this one. Awkward. We’ve drawn a “line-in-the-sand” on items for the 5.2 update. Adding items to that pile will delay publishing…though we do make exceptions for major regressions. This one has been around for a little while now, so it does not count as a regression. I’m glad this one is on 5.3 though.

Just pressing buttons here. Thanks. I am having to guess which layer I am putting thing on to at times.

This bug should be fixed in the latest RhinoWIP…the layer orders in the object properties should now match those of the layer controller. Thanks again for reporting this! Sorry it took this long to fix.
