Layer off in model, on in detail

Hi, theres a number of old threads about this, but I could not tell if this has been addressed in the current builds.

Is there currently a way to do this? IE I want my furniture layer to be off globally and in model space, but turn it on for one detail. I feel like this was working for a bit by applying layer states in a detail…

Hi -

Yes.

No. “Global” is both Model space and Paper space.
You can have a layer off in model space and on for one detail. Activate the one detail and turn on the “Detail on” lightbulb.

Ah, I knew about the “detail on” toggle but I did not realize there was a “model on” toggle to go with it. So I need to turn off the “model on” and then toggle on the “detail on” in my detail. while global is set to on.

Is that what your getting at? It works, but it also means I need to now go into all my other details and toggle off the “detail on” for that layer.

Thanks!

Hi Nick -

Yes.

No. :]
RMB-click the “detail on” lightbulb for a layer when a detail is selected to get the context menu. From that menu, you can turn a layer on or off for the select detail, etc…

Ah, great, did not know that rmb had more options on there. Thanks!
