Latest Rhino update seems to have stopped FPatch working as before

Hello,

Yesterday I updated to Rhino 7.32.23191.11001,2023-07-10

It’s stopped the FPatch in Grasshopper working as it always has which is an issue as all my definitions use it.

Previously if an open polyline was drawn EG: V shape. FPatch would still patch it with the orange warning on the box ‘Boundary should be closed’. Most likely unintentionally, but very useful.

Now it goes red and won’t patch.

My colleague hasn’t updated Rhino yet and his still works.
His version is:
7.30.23163.13001,2303-06-12

I’ve just uninstalled and resintalled with:

Version 7 SR31
7.31.23166.15001, 2023-06-15

This version is still letting FPatch work as before. Phew!

Not seeing an issue, can you post the geometry that is failing? I’ll try to replicate. Thanks

The example attached is working again on mine as I reinstalled to the previous SR, but this should show it not patching on the present SR.
FPATCH.gh (7.7 KB)

The Boundary should be closed.

Still not able to replicate in 7.32.23164.17001

Hm strange.

I rebooted.

Then checked two different definitions I’ve built including an old saved rhino file with definition which was working, and also a made a simple definition as a test like above…

I’ll try the update again next week if I’m less busy to see if it replicates the issue.

for what is worth, Version 7 SR32 (7.32.23191.11001, 2023-07-10)

Ah yes! That’s the exact issue I had!

Thanks for reporting and getting this repeatable so quick. A lot easier to track down the change now than in a few weeks or months.

Hello,

I’ve just tried to update again and the same problem occured, so I’ve reverted to the previous version which works and turned off Enable Updates.

If you could reply once this has been sorted out I can enable the updates again. Thanks.

I was think it would be a simple regression fix, apparently there is more to it.
