I have been busy putting together a small video about how we undertake boat hull 3D scanning here where I work at “The Yard Brisbane”.
The yacht was scanned with a Faro s70 3D scanner, the pointcloud was brought into Rhino 7 as an E.57 cloud. I used Rhino 7 to model the 3D scanner and Yacht sections, and Bongo to animate the “Laser Beam” and rotation of the scanner components as well as the camera/target paths.
I outputted the renders as .PNG frames, and composited the whole lot together in Adobe After Effects.
