Can you suggest me a laptop for Rhino? I need it for school so, if possible, I would like to spend less than 800 euro.
Almost anything will work…as long as you have a separate dedicated gpu. Stay away from the tablet type computers with onboard video, they typically don;t have the power needed to run 3d applications well. Personally I like Boxx computers. But they tend to be expensive.
Something like HP ENVY 15-k203nl?
CPU: i7-5500U (2,4-3 Ghz, 4MB L3)
RAM: 8GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M 4GB dedicated
I wonder how well Rhino will run here:
Maybe a 1GB Nvidia GPU does the job? It’s tempting to have just one laptop for both 3D and sketching.

Do you think that processor and GPU are enough for rhino?
CPU: i7-5500U (2,4-3 Ghz, 4MB L3)
RAM: 8GB

I just checked out the new Dell XPS 15 which is available with a skylake processor, Nvidia gpu, and weighs between 3.9 and 4.4 pounds depending on the battery chosen. Battery life varies between 11 and 17 hours base upon the same choice. I also found the Microsoft Surface Book compelling but for the price. The Dell mentioned is quite frankly not much bigger or heavier. Cheers, Rob
buyer beware on MS hardware…I dropped a TON of money on a surface pro3 and it is garrrrrbage for production art. Almost every aspect of it from pen performance, to keyboard, to graphics performance is a compromise and the compromise was for making it a good machine marketing weenies. Best advice I can offer after getting burned badly on the one I bought (granted, a previous generation machine) …take it for a very extended test drive before you buy…
Has someone experience with the DELL XPS 15’’. This machine sounds great…
For the same dough, get a 15" laptop like the new Dell xps 15 at 3.9 lbs…roughly the same weight as the surface book but comes with a much faster cpu and gpu.
whatever you buy, make sure it has a dedicated gpu- on board graphics are no good for Cad programs of any type.
