Hello,
I am experiencing an issue where Rhino Lands works perfectly on my system, but Lands Design fails to run when using [SetDotNetRuntime=NETCore v8].
Lands Design works fine on other runtimes (.NET Framework v7, v8), and (.NETCore v7), but with NETCore v8 specifically, it crashes the moment I start working (immediately after loading Grasshopper and all other definitions). This happens when I launch the program using the “Lands Design” desktop shortcut.
I attempted a workaround by launching Rhino directly, then going to Options > Plugins. I am able to successfully load Tibidabo.rhp, but when I try to load Lands.rhp, it fails and shows the error in the attached screenshot.
My questions are:
-
Why is this happening?
-
Do I have to stick with .NET Framework or NETCore v7 instead of NETCore v8?
-
If I switch runtimes, will I lose any new features or experience a decrease in workflow performance?
-
Extra Question: Does Lands Design lack specific object selection commands compared to standard Rhino? (I couldn’t find them).
Note: The issue persists even after uninstalling V-Ray for Rhino v7.0 and VisualARQ v3.3 (which were removed a month ago).
System Information:
-
Rhino: v8.21
-
Lands Design: v6.2.2
-
Grasshopper: v1.0.0008
-
OS: Windows 11 24H2
-
CPU: Core i7 10750H
-
GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060 6GB
Thank you.
Hani,
