Karamba3D - Column Axis Rotation

Hey,

So I seem to be having an issue with rotating column axes. I am trying to rotate this column such that its flange is perpendicular with the axis of the connecting beam. I know the angle that is needs to rotate. I am trying to use the orientate element component and are following through the “Orientate_Beam_AlternativeDefinitions” example that is provided online. However, when changing the “Alpha” input with my number slider, I do not observe any rotation in my cross-section. Any ideas as to why this may be happening?

Hi, are you orientating the element as below. Here you can see that the alpha input rotates the cross section:

Hey Matt,

Thanks for the reply. I ended up having to rotate the elements prior to performing the analysis. In addition, I did not supply my orientate element component with any inputs for X, Y, or Z orientation. Just had to negate the alpha input and it worked.
