Karamba 3D Materials

Hi everyone, I am interesting to make truss structure which has a cable at the lower chord of the structure but as long in the Karamba 3D material library there is no availability I decided to ask the community to get an advice how can I use the cable structural properties without creating a complex code.

You can either select a material for your cable (for example steel) or define your own material using the material properties component

Thanks

I manually selected material properties for the cable. Still, another big problem was selecting a cross-section because no cross-sections were available, and I didn’t find a way to create my cross-section to fit the cable. May I get assistance with that?

you can use the 3.3.1: Beam Cross Sections | Karamba3D v3 component to create a circular section for your cable - if you want it to be solid, simply set the thickness to the radius of your section.

I think it should work! Thanks a lot. I can also consider from the manual of cables the cross-sectional area and extract the correct total diameter of the bundle of the wires ( depending on the number of cable).
