I am trying to wrap a brep and slightly vacuum it using kangaroo but the input brep is not entirely covered. It is likely an issue to do with either anchor points/point collide/triremesh. I am planning on using this for larger objects and manually drawing out anchor points is not ideal, any suggestions?

This other discussion also goes into something similar but im not fully certain as to how it is achieved and what he means by “filtering anchor points”

The way I set it up, anchor points are extracted from edges which lay on the hull. The anchor points you tried don’t do anything since they’re not connected to the initial mesh in any way. My next attempt would be to use the result as an input for a new relaxation. Maybe Triremesh first so the new input has more even edge lengths…

> Hi @martinsiegrist , Thank you so much for your help! Using the hull instead of a box for the second Brep was something I hadn’t considered, and it got me to the solution. I also realized that the final meshing after the solver isn’t necessary for my case, since it just disrupts the clean edges. I do have another question: I’m trying to reduce the shape a bit further. Ideally, the top and bottom surfaces should have more elasticity (see image 2). Even when I reduce the Length…

I find the best way to achieve a somewhat satisfying result is to offset the mesh slightly.

in a small scene you might get a better result meshing the breps more densely but this approach also means the solver will run much slower on large scenes

Hi,

I’m running into a similar issue with shrink wrapping where the mesh is colliding with the base geometry. I’d like to keep the wrap cleanly outside the modeled shapes so I can get crisp, clean edges.

I also need to add a hole in the middle of the wrap. How can I create the wrap with a hole before stretching it so it maintains the correct curvature and form?

I’ve attached the relevant files below.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
