Joints Between Boxes - Add Rectangle?

Hi Everyone,

I’ve been trying to figure out how I can take a series of rectangle (or other geometric shapes) and place a rectangle over the joined edge where they meet? I’ve provided a simple example and an image showing a typical pattern - these rectangles are typically centred on the joints but in some cases it would be nice to move them or add two per joint (as per the other image).

It’s also worth noting that these rectangle will only ever be on the vertical edges - not horizontal.
I’ve been struggling with this for a while, filtering the vertical edges of each box etc, but I cant find a solution. So any help here is appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks HS_Kim, this really helps!

Check this improved version as well.

Thanks, I’ve attached the rhino file of the surfaces I’m aiming to do this on and realised there is a corner section here which is being recognised as a vertical joint - also you can see this arrangement is a lot more varied but seems to work great.
