Hello! We are Shapemaker and we are on a mission to reinvent civil engineering design of telecommunication infrastructure. We were founded in 2021 and have put together a team building a software for optimizing structural analysis and design of telecom towers.
Building and upgrading infrastructure for 5G is a complex and time-consuming task and there is a global shortage of expertise. Our software reduces the skill barrier in performing structural analysis of the towers and reduces the lead times for the customer from weeks to minutes. We are enabling fast roll-outs of new infrastructure and minimize the raw material needed for building the structures.
To achieve this we are leveraging deep competence in structural engineering, parametric modeling and geotechnologies together with a scalable cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence. Right now we are looking for a skilled and motivated Civil/Structural Engineer with experience in parametric design to join the team!

Tasks and responsibilities:
- Perform structural calculations of steel structures and concrete foundations per Eurocode and other engineering standards
- Maintain and improve our models in Grasshopper
- Code in Python to maintain and improve some of the back-end infrastructure related to civil/structural engineering calculations
- Develop new structural models (definitions) for our new product lines
- Establish good communication with our software developers
Skills and qualifications:
- Education: MSc degree in civil/structural engineering
- Preferred skills: Parametric/computational design skills, Rhino+Grasshopper, Python
- Extras: Geotechnical engineering knowledge, experience with open source libraries in FEA and/or CFD, R
- Experience: 3+ years experience in structural designs and/or parametric designs However, the willingness to learn is more important than the years of experience
- Strong team player. We are in this together and expect that you have a strong team spirit
- Communication skills. Combining all these technologies and pioneering requires us to work efficiently together
