JOB TITLE: SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

JOB LEVEL: Junior Level (1-2 years’ experience)

Position Description
CHAM is seeking a Software Developer for its CFD Applications Department at our Wimbledon office, in particular to focus on the further development of our latest product, RhinoCFD.
Your main task will be to build upon our existing product, integrating our trusted CFD solver with the Rhino CAD environment. This will involve improving and optimising all aspects of the program, from the menu systems and general interface, to the underlying physics and how they are displayed in the Rhino environment.
You will be responsible for the evolution of the product, looking into how it can be connected with Grasshopper, Rhino’s visual programming language, opening up a whole range of new uses for CFD and integrating it within diverse types of workflows.
As technical lead for the project, you will be the frontman for supporting the software, communicating with users, understanding their problems and desires and feeding that back into the development loop.
You will have an educational role, creating tutorials videos, webinars and other material which can be used to grow our community of users as well as help our agents and resellers to perform their jobs more effectively. Presence on forums such as Discourse will be greatly encouraged.
Necessary Qualifications:
• MSc or above in Computational Science, Systems Engineering, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience using and developing software/plugins to other software and commercial awareness regarding marketing such software
• Experience with of the following programming languages: C#, .NET framework, C++
• Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Desirable:
• Knowledge of Fluid Mechanics, or Thermodynamics
• Experience using Rhino and Grasshopper
• Knowledge of FORTRAN
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
