Issues Trimming Hexagon

Hello Forum.
I think this is a super simple issue…but I’m having a mental block.
I’m trying to trim the hexagon geometry shape using the triangle shape.
I thought this would be a ‘Trim’ script…but it doesn’t work.
Can you help?

ps. I’m also getting an ‘error’ message for another issue. It doesn’t seem to affect anything but was still to get my head around the issue.

What the difference between ‘Join’ and ‘Merge’?

You can use three separate line segments for Surface Split instead of one joined polyline if you want…
