Issue with Subd Face appending automatically

I have been trying to figure out what has gone wrong with SUBD Single face append. Not sure if the setting is wrong because I can’t find setting to maybe fix the issue. In using Rhino 8 I was following a drawing using “Create a single subd face” I was working and adding (appending faces automatically and it just stopped working. Now I have to click on append for each additional face I make. I tried finding settings but couldn’t. I went to my Rhino 7 and it works perfectly. I did my best to find some kind of difference, but all settings look the same. I rebooted and still having issue. Anybody know what is up with this?

Multiple and single face modes are working here in Rhino 8 with the AppendFace command. Are you doing something different than what I show below? Can you post a file with a sample if so and instructions on which edges to use?

personally I use gumball extrude with sub object selections… way faster IMO.

you do have to stitch the result which adds a step, but if you hotkey it that goes fast too..

especially if you set options and make it an instant alias in v9 wip
