Isolate In Detail [command request]

I’m very happy to see the Isolate command implemented into V6. I had previously used Pascal’s script, but it’s even better as an official command.

I’m requesting a new use case: Isolate In Detail

Similar to HideInDetail, but isolates all selected objects within a layout detail and prevents any future geometry/annotations created in the model space from appearing in that particular layout detail.

I often find myself using HideInDetail to get my layout detail clean, showcasing particular geometry and its dimensions. Then as I keep working I add dimensions in the model space, and must return to previous detail views to continue using HideInDetail until it’s clean again.

I know layer states can achieve a similar isolation and dimensions can be applied in the layout space. I’m suggesting IsolateInDetail for a particular workflow.

Seconded! this feature would be great!

So, really, this sounds like ‘don’t add anything more to this detail’ might be more straightforward - then you could use ShowInDetail to add stuff later if needed.

Yes something like that would add more flexibility to the layout process. Thanks for reviewing.

Shortly after this post, I became aware of the layout visibility lightbulbs, which became a critical tool. But I reported a bug that was hindering efficiency. I haven’t tried R7 yet to see if it was fixed.
