Is there a 3-dimensional equivalent to the component RecGrid?

I am looking for a way to apply my script to a 3-dimensional surface, not just a 2-dimensional plane as it is set up currently. Perhaps there is another component similar to RecGrid? Or is there a sequence of components I could substitute to get a set of grid cells and points of a 3-dimensional surface?

I think they actually means something like Divide Surface or IsoTrim.
