Is -SelLayer with wildcard broken on Rhino 6?

The command “-_SelLayer layername::*”, that selects all objects on all sublayers of the layer named “layername” works perfectly on Rhino 5, but on Rhino 6 this command fails.
Is that a bug or is there any workaround we can use to update our macros?

Yes this looks to be completely broken for nested layers.
