I’m new to Rhino and recently got version 8,2 installed.
Unfortunately, I’m having some issues and frustrations with the software.
Hopefully, I can get some tips.
-After the 0,2 Sp update I’m experiencing serious problems with my computer.
Whenever I click into Rhino preferences the computer starts acting strange
The mouse and keyboard become so laggy that I need to restart the PC.
This problem continues to affect the computer even when Rhino has been shut down.
How do I fix this?
-Although I have many years of CAD experience I’m finding it very hard to get used to the pan, rotate, and zoom functions in Rhino. It would be very helpful to be able to customize mouse properties. Will this be possible in future updates?
-Is there a quick way to set the camera pan, rotate, zoom pivot to a point on the model?
I’m somewhat possible to set the rotational pivot by holding ctrl+shift but not pan.
The model is very hard to accurately navigate without the entire world getting askew.
-Is there a way to model by just using perspective windows by flipping through the orthographic views using shortcuts and automatically setting the Cp to view? Flipping through viewports is not that effective.
-I can’t change the color of the model in shaded view. I need different objects to have different colors when I model. When I try to change the color of an object it briefly displays the color and goes back to the standard shade.
-Why don’t I get continuity options when I try to make a rail surface?
Are there no good square surface tools with continuity options? Do they all need to be rebuilt and matched after the surface has been created? I had to download X-nurbs to get reasonable surfaces.
Sub-D dosent work. I get error message after just trying to make a box.

I have seen references to opengl support in Citrix being v 2.1, so I suspect that is where the setting has come from.
Also, don’t know how relevant this is, but the installation process for Citrix’s opengl accelerator includes replacing the MS opengl32.dll files with their own version. This was bugged in 64 bit systems and not fixed as of a few months back. Don’t know where it stands now.
Hi
Tried to increase the Open GL setting + remove Citrix.
When I go into the preferences menu, Rhino tends to slow down or lock my computer.
I need to do a hard restart.
Today Rhino crashed several times on startup + the viewports appears black when the program loads (goes away after some seconds.
Working in the program works fine as long as I don’t go into preferences.

Can you open Rhino in Safe Mode via Windows Start (type in “Rhino in Safe Mode”) and see if things are smoother? if they are that points towards the video config, first thing would be to do a clean install of the latest video driver.
