Is it possible to scale2D a 3D object with gumball?

So I like to shrink the object without changing the height of it.

yes, in perspective shift click on the square and drag

I think that will uniformly change the scale of the object, not only in X and Y.

No, only in X and Z. If you want X and Y you need to do it in the Top view. Wherever you do it, you only get a change in two dimensions.

Thank you for your reply!
I trying to understand it clearly.
I can not change the scale of a 3D object uniformly only in XY directions with gumball, right?

Yes you can, but you need to be in the Top viewport to do so.

Oh, sorry, I didn’t make myself clear.
I mean 3D objects, not 2D ones. Like here:

It works shift or Maj click and mouse on XY plane of gumball

I did that with a 3D box - I just happened to be in wireframe mode. You need to put the cursor in the Plane symbol,

Thanks! @laurent_delrieu

you generally dont seem to trust my input :man_shrugging: i am curious how that happened.

the square changes orientation according to your perspective angle, if you rotate up and down with the camera you see that the square will align towards the corresponding axis, for xy axis you have to look at the object from a bit more above, no need so switch to top view.

Sorry, I thought you were saying these guys as square, but now I got it, you were right.

i agree, there are just too many square things in Rhino, but glad i gained your trust again.
