Is there a command I’m not thinking of that will help apply these 4 sides of a balloon back onto the balloon form exactly as is? I need to make sure everything is aligning properly in their template.
Thank you in advance
Do you have the original balloon shape? Rhino has tools to flatten surfaces but can’t automatically turn flat back to the original 3d shape.
It looks duable with Kangaroo.
If you can provide the starting curves it would speed up the process
And provide also the final shape you’re expecting.
Resolve the perfcet shape could be hard but a suitable approximation looks feasible
Mathematically speaking, you cant reconstruct the exact baloon some information is lost during flattening, however practically speaking yes you can reconstruct that for manufacturing purposes is just fine.
What sort of balloon? What are you trying to determine?
There is Squish and squish back in Squisher
https://www.food4rhino.com/en/app/squisher
But if you have the 3d mesh and the flattened 3d mesh with same topology it is easy to go from one to the other
Having a mesh of the 2d shape and the image as surface in Rhino allows to calculate UV coordinate of for each point of the mesh (using Human Nautilus …)
Then apply theses coordinate to the 3d mesh
