Is it possible to add customized row of control points in Cage Edit command?

Hi,
In order to create free form shapes, I need to use “cage edit” command but I just only change the control box’s row counts. I want to add a row in a specific place like what we can do using “Insert control point” command.
Is it possible?

What can we do for free form shaping instead?

You can create a curve or surface and it as the control object in CageEdit. Add control points or knots to the curve or surface as desired before starting CageEdit.
