Invalid Names Fail Silently

I’m not sure sure if this how it is supposed to behave, or if it is a bug? If it is intentional, I would request that the default behavior be changed.

See below, if you enter an ‘invalid’ name for the element, it appears to get set… but only until you click away:


I think that either:
a) You should get an explicit warning that your input name is ‘invalid’, rather than silent fail, or…
b) It should fail right away in the input dialogue box, rather than seeing to work, only to silently fail when you click away.

The worst option, IMO, is the current behavior of seeming to work fine, and then failing silently.
