Problem- It is hard to tell U and V directions. And to be honest most designers dont care. Few concepts:
When in the RebuildSrf command- Pick isocurve or edge of surface you want to rebuild and the corresponding direction is highlighted and user can input the required degree
When in the RebuildSrf command- Pick U or V by picking the corresponding isocurve or edge of the surface and use the mouse scroll to increase or decrease the degree.
Hi Thomas- are you thinking there would be a dialog or command line input as well for numeric input? Or inputs available right βonβ the curve or surface? Or?
Currently Rebuild Srf has a dialog box. Do not get rid of this. This proposal adds a visual aspect to the definition process ie- you click on the U or V isoparm on screen and use the mouse roll to increase or decrease resolution ( you can already use the mouse roll to increase and decrease the numeric input in the respective field. As you roll the U and V point count up and down on screen the numeric fields update accordingly.
Re: Degree- Perhaps degree can be edited by holding down the scroll wheel and going up and down.
This kind of edit can be extremely fast and fluid- and allow you to move quickly from curve to extrude to point edited surface with minimal mouse movement.
