Inspector bar wideness change with some panels

Is this the expected behaviour?

thanks a lot

I can confirm that but I don’t know if that is a “bug” or intended behavior. Each Panel has a minimum configured width. If your inspector is too narrow for the minimum width of a given panel, you see the behavior you are seeing.

I’ll see if @dan can offer any specifics on the intended behavior panel width behavior.

I actually don’t think this is the expected behavior. Now that we have Raytraced viewports, this could unintentionally cause the viewport to change size and reset the Cycles engine again.

If that’s the case, then the minimum width of all panels needs to be the same.

I’ll dig into this more soon - in the middle of something else right now - but it appears to be only Layers, Blocks, and Display inspectors that are causing this. I never noticed this until I compressed my window size much smaller (my inspectors were all wider than the minimum).

Note to self: If memory serves, all three of these inspectors are xib-backed inspectors (not Eto controls), which is a good clue.

We’ve tuned up the right-hand sidebar behavior in the latest Service Release Candidate for Rhino 6 for Mac (6.18 RC1). Please let us know if you still see it get jumpy.

Thank you for the quick fix Dan.

With best wishes.
