Importing points, but no descriptions visible

I was trouble free with my use of Rhino6, but after upgrading to v7 I have a new dilemma.
When importing from a total station data collector, point numbers and descriptions were visible with v6. However, in v7, importing a .dxf file shows the points, but the associated point numbers and descriptions are not visible. Is there a setting that I have missed? Thanks, Kurt
