Importing a vector prog artwork into rhino retaining colours..how?

Hi,
V5 (inc the layer bug !)

I have a plan drawn in Freehand 9 and it has different colours for different parts of the structure along with green for the dimension lines and numbers.

I export it as eps and it imports as all black lines.

Try for export as adobe illustrator and again it imports as all black lines.

maybe that is because an import comes in onto the currently ticked layer ?

What method will bring this in and retain the colours ? I need to use it as a reference and draw over it but with everything in black I have lost its ease of understanding.

AI files with object (stroke) colors come through OK here. Fill colors are ignored.

Hi, yes these are stroke colours, but all come through as black.

The ai is an ai export from Macromedia Freehand.
