Import PDF's into Grasshopper

I’m hoping to directly import a set of PDF’s into Grasshopper. I’ve been searching the forums and found this discussion ( Insert PDF as block in Rhino - Grasshopper (grasshopper3d.com)), but these definitions import the PDF’s as blocks into Rhino. Two questions:

1. Is it possible to directly import PDF’s into Grasshopper? If not, why?
2. Has anyone been successful doing so?

Hey @wim …is there a way to get the layerinformation of the objects to sort them properly?
