I think you have to open the pop up bar as a persistent menu bar (right click on an empty bar) personalize it manually as you did in rhino 7 and the changes will pass to the real popup bar, I find it very cumbersome too… Since I was used to change the content all the time!
I’ve already talked about this before in another thread, I don’t remember where, (maybe another account since I cannot find on my history anymore). If my observations are useful I’ll write them again here.
My observations were as follows:
Me and most of my coleagues use the pop up bar as a place where we temporary store the most used commands on a specific project. Every project needs different commands, so the pop up bar should be personalizable fast.
Furthermore sometimes different people works on the same workstation so being able to personalize the popup bar fast is quite fundamental to us.
Lastly, since I’m an educator, sometimes I use the popup bar as a place to store the commands that I’m teaching in that particular lession, and I like to make it persistent (by dragging the top grey bar) so the students can see all the time which commands we already learned. With this update I cannot do either of these things which is a big los for me honestly…
PS:
Blender has a similar bar the “quick access bar” you open it hitting the letter Q and you can personalize it on the go with the commands that you want to reiterate a lot of times in a specific moment, so it has to be fast to update. I always saw the rhino pop up bar as the analogue of that quick access bar.
