Import JT file to Rhino 8

Hi, I need to import a JT file into Rhino. I’m trying out the SimLab plugin. The file imports, creates layers, but no objects are visible. Judging by the size of the 3dm file, there’s probably data there, but I can’t see it. Does anyone have experience with this?

jt.3dm (585.8 KB)

Thanks

Hi Ondrej -

For help with that plug-in, you’ll need to contact the developers of that tool.

Yes, I am waiting for their response.
Thanks

Given .jt is an ISO standard interchange format, is there likely to be native support for it in the future at some point?

Hi Jonathan -

I couldn’t find a previous feature request for this, so I put it on the list:
RH-92200 File IO: JT Import - Export

FWIW - Typically, we use external toolkits to read and write file formats.
Seeing that available plug-ins for Rhino that read/write JT files cost a fair amount of money, that would then likely lead to a price increase of Rhino for all users…

Did you ever get adequate support on this Ondrej?

Thanks Wim for taking a look. I don’t know how “free and open” it actually is as a format compared to as advertised… but was hoping it would not be too involved.
