Import .dft from solid edge?

 Is there a plugin or method to import .dft files from Solid Edge?

None that I know of. Are these 2d drawing files? Can they be exported to dwg?

Our customer can send us 2d versions in dwg format, but I was hoping to get the model also. Sometimes it’s hard to get engineers to convert models to a format that is more user friendly.
