Import 3dm not working in Rhino6, works fine in Rhino7

Hi,

Has something changed with the Import 3DM component in Rhino6?

In Rhino7 I use this function to import .dwg geometry into the canvas and have no issues, but this just gives me an error in Rhino6, is this is a bug?

Rhino 6 did not support importing formats other than 3dm with this component. This feature was added in Rhino 7
