Image - batch relinking new pathway

Hi,

Often I have reference images on my construction drawings which I have loaded to the file using the ‘Picture’ command. Every now and then, the pathname gets changed b/c I am on a workplace server and the folder structure in my department might be rearranged. This breaks the link to my images and I get a pop-up saying the image file could not be found. At the moment, I have been editing the material and going into my files to reselect the image from its new path location. (see images)

which is fine if its just one image. but every now and then I am preparing a reference pack which has multiple images and I have to relink them all one by one - which of course is very tedious. Is there another way to batch relink? I think in other programs (maybe InDesign?), if the path changes, you can relink 1 and the rest of the others match the new file location as that one if they were all in the same folder.

This would save a lot of time. Maybe there is a way to do it already I just do not know how.

Please advise :slightly_smiling_face: thank you.

Gabrielle

Any advice for this?

bumping this again… should i be tagging someone?

Hello.
You can add search paths by clicking “Files” in the [Options] command.
