Thanks

Also, Substracted or added solids are not exported.

Hi @guillaume.dupas,

If you’re referring to wall layer top and bottom offsets, yes, these properties are not exported to IFC because IFC does not support them. We’ll need to save the walls as IfcWall instead of IfcWallStandardCase. This will make them not parametric anymore if you open the IFC file on BIM editors (like Revit or VisualARQ), but the geometry will be correct on IFC viewers.

I’ve added a vote to this issue in our system. We’ll try to implement it for VisualARQ 2.12.

Thanks,

Enric

Hi @zabrielza,

I’ve just tried to export a wall with an added solid, and it has been correctly exported. Walls with added or subtracted solids are exported as IfcWallStandardCase.

Can you send us the 3DM file to visualarq@asuni.com?

Regards,

Enric

Ok thanks,

Could you show me how to save walls in IfcWall? I just need to export my model for visualisation and render not for edition.

Hi @guillaume.dupas,

Sorry, I don’t think I made myself clear.

The current version of VisualARQ is not exporting the offsets of the wall layers, as IFC does not support it. For the next version of VisualARQ, as workaraound, we will export the walls as IfcWall, so that the offsets can be seen in IFC viewers. This will be probably implemented for VisualARQ 2.12.

Enric

Dear @enric, may I ask what the status is regarding this? We soon (in 3 weeks) have to export walls with correct top and bottom offsets.

Out of curiosity. When will VA go to the next version and switch to Ifc 4x2 (or 4x3 if it will be out until then)? An in this case, will you solve this case with IfcWallElementedCase? Do you have any insight in, why IfcWallElementedCase is deprecated? I could not find further info about it on the net.
