Hi all, you’ve heard of reverse engineering, what I am doing is something like reverse designing. What that means is I already have the model, now I am wanting to to the drawings from the model. I want to give the drawings the human touch. To best describe it would be to use Technical mode with hidden lines hidden and the remaining lines be a faint grey. All that means is so I can hand draw over that to look like concept drawings. Arctic mode could work if the shading was toned down a lot. I don’t need any internal surface lines , just edges that are faint enough to see where I can colorize or sketch over.
Technical mode takes a long time to generate the data to see, so I was hoping Arctic mode might have a setting to get to my desired effect. Any help is welcomed. Thanks , Mark
Hi Mark -
That sounds like a Shaded
display mode with a custom, luminous white material for all objects. Turn off all isocurves and edges. On a white background, that will make the objects invisible. Then run Silhouette
on the objects.

Hi Wim, I think that will do it. Thanks a bunch!—-Mark
One last question . Is silhouette, view dependent? The reason I asked is some silhouette lines are not there.—-Mark
Hi Mark -
Yes, it is. You need to rotate the viewport to the view that you need and then run the command. And / or run it in the parallel viewports that you need.
