Huge file with only a few curves

I have a file that takes forever to open and save, it is around 700 MB but contains a few curves.

I tried to save small, Purge, copy the curves and paste in a new document. Still 700 MB.

I then used -SaveSmall and set “no” to SaveTexture and SavePlugInData and “Yes” to SaveSmall and GeometryOnly.

The file went to 255 Ko.

Why would Plug-in data or textures be attached to curves?

Before the -SaveAs, a curve’s Detailed properties would look like this:

curve

ID: 685ba47c-ed77-4d2c-ad12-7bcf7dda0291 (2615)
Object name: xxxxxxxxxxxxL
Layer name: Make2D::Visible
Render Material:
source = from layer
index = -1
Attribute UserData:
UserData ID: B63ED079-CF67-416c-800D-22023AE1BE21
Plug-in: Renderer Development Kit
description: RDK data
saved in file: yes
copy count: 9709

Going back to an older version, I tried all the options of -SaveAs separately. The only one that had a significant effect on file size is “GeometryOnly”.

I pasted back some of the curves and now it’s up to 5.7 MB and I don’t know what is taking so much space.

All the -SaveAs options or TestPurgeBitmapTable have no effect.

If I run Audit3dmFile, I see:

3 texture mappings with 1 plug-in data items, 5146338 bytes (offset 34220 to 5180558)
2 embedded files, 446809 bytes

How do I get rid of these?
Strange that curves carry texture mapping and embedded images when copy/pasted in a new file…

Only way I found is to export the curves as IGES and open as a new file. Back to 25 Ko.
