Hues and greys

As part of the ‘let’s see how far we can push the new cross-platform graphics platform’ effort I’ve started working on Grasshopper2 colour pickers and reviving some old projects which never worked well within GDI+.

The goal here is to make a Hue-Luminance gradient where the luminance of all pixels in each row is as constant as possible. Eto color and bitmap functionality combined with custom coded luminance metrics and manually controlled hue-angle mapping (to make green less dominant in the spectrum and give more space for yellows, oranges and purples).

Of course actual perceived luminance depends on the calibration of the screen so is impossible to guarantee. In fact dark blue region seem darker than the surrounding area on my screen, but I cannot find a better luminance metric than perceived HSP…
