How would you go about changing the thickness of this piece?

My idea was to extract a curve, split the piece using that curve and then adjusting the second half (bottom) to the curve.

I don’t know how to adjust the split piece to the new curve. I thought that it would be simple, and then I could just loft the gaps to close them.

I tried using the Bend tool, but I think that was wrong. [Did not save picture]

Which method would you use to add 0.7mm to this piece and where could I go about learning the principles behind that?

You can extract the face with the holes inside it using explode, then picking the face, and then use OffsetSrf to offset by 0.7 mm, making sure Solid = No.

Then This will reproduce your surface offset.

You can then just delete all of the side (little) faces (making use of explode again if needed, on your “Cartier” face.

You then directly loft all of the sides back together. I would suggest the holes can be easily remade, as at the moment the cutouts on your cylinders are all uneven, and make no sense.

From your file, the cylindrical cutouts are a little confused, and I cannot tell if they are supposed to contain interior cylinders for mounting gems, or if the cylinders are just wrongly sized.

This is what happens when I do with Extrude Srf. It doesn’t go in every direction, just one. Is there a way to spread equaly?

Those holes are little screws, the model name is because it’s a practice round with the Cartier Love series.

Yes, this is not the correct command.

You want OffsetSrf, NOT ExtrudeSrf.

Thank you! Did not know this command existed.
