How to subtract one polysurface from another to create a bowl type shape

Hi Everyone

I am trying to subtract one rectangle (smaller) from another rectangle (bigger) to create somewhat of a “bowl” shape. I want to be able to subtract the one rectangle but keep the walls so that the bigger rectangle is still solid once the subtraction is done. I hope this makes sense and I was able to explain what I am looking for accurately. I pasted a picture of the two objects below. I appreciate any help I can get!

What happens when you use the command solid – Boolean – difference?

I was trying it with boolean difference and was ending up with it acting the opposite as I wanted it to. Ill try to mess with the direction of the objects and see if that helps.

Yep, it was the direction of the objects. I got it. Thanks for the help guys.
