You can create a new Rhino file, make the appropriate settings to your needs, and then use SaveAsTemplate to save this file as a template file. Next time, you can create a new Rhino file using this template.
Hi, I am not trying to make a template or start file. I want to know where are all the possible light sources are and how to turn them off so that the viewport turns pitch black. I have tried to turn off all light sources and the viewport is still lit not dark like one would expect.
I assume you’re using Rhino Render only (and not a plug in renderer like V Ray for example).
I think your issue is that you have the default environment map on, which is not a light object per se but projects light. To disable it, go to the Environnement tab, and set the intensity to 0.
Set the background color to black aswell to replicate the rendered output.
Also make sure that you have the lighting method set to “Scene lighting” in Options > View > Display modes > Rendered view
