How to start something like the fondation louis vuitton (asking for help)

Hello I’m looking to make an element like the sail elements that wrap the fondation louis vuitton by Gehry. I’m a novice so I don’t have an attempted script to share as I don’t know how to start. I want to create the shapes parametrically so I can iterate on the shapes to find their form in relation to the building and adjust the form of each. One element is particular is making the curves in grasshopper so their less wonky than me trying to direct model them.
any help would be greatly appreciated :slightly_smiling_face:

Grasshopper won’t save you from wonky curves. Imo surfaces should be modeled by hand, and their rectangular division can be done in grasshopper.

Just for interest (and of no help in your quest). From the fondation blurb, it seems that Gehry’s starting point was more traditional:

The architect then produced numerous models in wood, plastic and aluminium, playing with the lines and shapes, investing his future building with a certain sense of movement…
…The final model was then scanned to provide the digital model for the project.

Hard not to think of this old chestnut:

That’s good to know, I’ll persevere from a normal modelling approach. I think subd might be the best then to shape the surface
