How to simulate moucharabia openings

hello so i am working on a simulation project where we are covering the structure with some side wlas with diffrent patterns to see what pattern really is the best energy-wise but idk how it really works and what does it consider as opening or not because the openings are not normal square windows here is one of the patterns please assist me also here is the current grasshopper file look
