Hi…,
how to set up quickly a turntable animation in Bongo 2?
Thanks

Michael,
The easiest way to set up a 360-degree turntable animation in Bongo is to make a circle and constrain the camera to the circle and constrain the target to the object you want to turn around.
This command exists into Rhino > no need of Bongo to do that
Turntable of a diamond made with Arion for Rhino the new photorealistic render of RhinoGOLD V5
There are two basic methods to get a turntable animation.
METHOD 1) Put the camera on a circle and have to go around
METHOD 2) Rotate the objects (linked with a proxy) and the camera remain fixed
I found that Method 2 is FAR better. Once the camera and lighting is set up for an awesome still image, you will get equally nice results by locking the camera, lights, and set – and just rotating the geometry.
In Method 1, you really don’t want to go around the sides and back where the lighting / shadows / reflections are out of your control.
The process I mentioned has been documented in a video.
Updated with Part 2 video.
Hey Dave,
thank you very much for this nice video tutorial.
Take care
Michael
Michael:
You are welcome and happy to help! I have other videos on my (all free) training website at Professor3d.com Most of my training is at Lynda.com, where I have authored five courses on Rhino and V-Ray. You can always check out 10% of any course for free. If you want full access, here’s a link for 10-days free!
The coolest news is that I am working on a lynda course for Rhino + Bongo + V-Ray right now. I’ll announce it here when it gets published in 2 months +/-.
