Hi…,
I have created a SubD with thickness. Now I want to delete the inner SubDs. I’ve deleted the connection between outer and inner part.
subd_select_inner_separation.3dm (205.4 KB)
How to select the inner SubDs easily? Is there a separated area selection?
Thanks
Michael

Hi
Don’t know if there’s a way to do that in one go, but it is quite easy and quick with the face filter + shift+double click.

Hi Akash,
yes, thank you for the video. I know these selection methods from the nice videos of Brian James.
I would like to select this automatically, think e.g. of a more complex inner part.
Cheers

Support for Explode to create separate selections when a disjoint SubD is selected is filed as RH-51988 for future reference. I added your post to the notes for that one, thanks. A workaround now would be ExtractControlPolygon > SplitDisjointMesh > ToSubD

You can use this macro to split disjoint subD:
_ExtractControlPolygon _Pause _SelPrev _Delete _SelLast _SplitDisjointMesh _SelLast _ToSubD _Enter _Delete
