Hi everyone,

I am trying to code a wind bracing onto a steal beam, but I can’t get the rotation right. The weird thing is that the same calculation I have used for the connecting beam (with the tekla-grasshopper component “Beam rotation”) does not work on the wind bracings.

I have tried to change the plane for the beam rotation component but it does not seem to do anything.

Can anyone help? And also clarify in what measurment the output of beam rotation is in? (degrees or radians?)

That line that goes into the Beam rotation component should be the same that the one you use for the axis of the beam. Also, where does the point for the plane come from? The beam will be rotated according to the normal direction of that plane so you’d need to construct it according to that. It’s probably easier to check if you share the definition.

That would be degrees, as that then can be plugged directly into the Position component (and have the same value as in the UI).
