How to rebuild and clean a supercomplex surface for a designer's table

Hey everyone!

I am writing a topic because i’m really stuck with a wooden table project i got to work on for a designer.

The table is made of 4 parts : 2 parts symetric to 2 other.

I would like to “rebuild”, to ”clean” up the polysurface the designer gave to me. I suppose he made it on Rhinoceros with swipe2rails, but the result, as you can see on the different picture ( the last one is a zoom on the portion who is really bad ) and he needed some work to make the surface easier to make with a cnc, more continuous, and i would like to be able to control the remake of the surface, not a random result you can’t really decide the shape.

Once i rebuild something with catmull clark alorithm on GH but i am not conviced it’s the right way here. I thought about extracting the iso curves, retouch them and then make a “surface from network” but it’s by hand and impossible to do it clean.

I am stuck, and i am not so familiar in this domain of Rhinoceros…

Thank you in advance guys to help me!

Best regards and marry xmas

Tim

Yeah reworking someone else’s stuff isn’t fun… umm it looks like Sweep2 would work okay here, but there needs to be more sections to stop that twisting over on itself. The thing is to add only just enough sections to get the job done or it’s gonna become unwieldy…
